### **For Windows (Windows 10/11):**
1. **Open Settings**:
Press **Win + I**, or click the **Start** menu and select **Settings**.
2. **Go to Update & Security**:
Scroll down and click **Update & Security**.
3. **Choose Recovery**:
- Click **Recovery** from the left-hand menu.
4. **Reset this PC**:
- Under **Reset this PC**, click on the **Get started** button.
5. **Choose an Option**:
- You will be presented with two options:
- **Keep my files**: This will delete all the applications and settings but retain your personal files.
- **Eraser everything**: This will wipe out all of your personal files, applications, and settings. Use this option only if you want a total clean start.
6. **Follow the Prompts**:
- Follow the on-screen instructions, and your laptop will restart and begin the resetting process.
### **For macOS:**
1. **Back up Your Data**:
- You need to create a backup; **Time Machine** is recommended or any other backup you prefer it.
2. **Reboot into Recovery Mode**:
- From the **Apple menu**, select **Restart**.
- Immediately hold the **Command + R** keys until you see the Apple logo.
3. **Open Disk Utility**:
- After your computer boots into Recovery mode, click **Disk Utility** and then highlight your primary hard drive, usually labeled as "Macintosh HD."
4. **Erase the Disk**:
- Click Erase to format the drive and clear everything. Between APFS or Mac OS Extended, select one, depending on your version of Mac.
5. Reinstall macOS:
- Once you've erased, go back to the main Recovery Mode screen and click Reinstall macOS.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the operating system.
If you use any other OS, then please mention it, and I will guide you about that one.
