Alright, some of the steps to troubleshoot your laptop when Caps Lock is on but nothing shows up on the screen:
1. **External Monitor
**:
Connect your laptop with an external monitor, just to rule out that the display is an issue with the screen itself.
2. **Hard Reset**:
- Switch the laptop off.
- Take out the power adapter and take out the battery if it can be accessed from the back or bottom of the system.
- Press the power button and hold it for around 15-20 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try booting it up once more.
3. **Check RAM**:
- If you are comfortable, then reseat the RAM sticks: take them out and replace them back in, making sure they are securely connected.
4. **Disconnect Peripherals**: Disconnect all
external devices and try booting again.
5. **Boot into Safe Mode**:
* If there is a recovery option in the laptop, try booting into Safe Mode. This may grant access to the display.
6. **Reset the BIOS/UEFI**:
* Sometimes resetting the BIOS will work. This is normally accomplished by pressing a specific key at startup, like F2, F10, or Del.
7. **Overheating Check**:
The laptop should not be overheating. If it feels hot, let it cool down and try again.
8. **Inspect Display Connections**:
If you feel comfortable doing so, check the internal connections of the screen to make sure they are secure.
9. **Seek Professional Help**:
If all the above doesn't work, that is a more serious problem with the hardware, such as a faulty display or motherboard, for which seeking help from a technician could be necessary.
Let me know if any of these steps work!
